Little-known washing machine drawer feature that makes cleaning much easier

A woman has left cleaning enthusiasts stunned after revealing a little-known feature of the washing machine drawer. Maintaining your washing machine is crucial as the damp environment can foster issues like mould.

However, cleaning this appliance can be challenging, particularly when it comes to scrubbing the fiddly washing machine drawers for a gleaming finish.

Luckily, one woman has discovered a clever trick to keep this small drawer clean at all times, astonishing fellow cleaning buffs with her find.

The cleaning enthusiast, named Faith, was unaware that she could detach the drawer for separate cleaning.

She only realised this when she spotted a button to press down for its removal.

Seeing that the compartment was quite dirty, Faith began cleaning it using a straightforward yet effective mix of warm soapy water, a toothbrush, and a cloth.

After “a lot of scrubbing”, Faith managed to get her washing machine drawer sparkling again, impressing many with the gratifying results.

Posting on the Facebook group Cleaning Tips and Tricks with before and after photos of her drawer, a surprised Faith wrote: “How on earth did I not know this drawer came out?!

“I’m now officially an adult and love cleaning haha! Thank you, everyone, for your cleaning tips and tricks”.

Many other members were similarly stunned by the seemingly unknown hack, having no clue that the drawer could be removed and cleaned separately in this manner.

One flabbergasted woman penned: “They say you learn something every day. Well, today I learned this thank you”.

Providing assistance to those unsure how to dislodge their own drawers, various members who’ve attempted this hack before advised pressing down in the middle of the drawer, right where the fabric softener is poured, followed by a mild tug.
