Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh wears Emilia Wickstead floral dress

2080

Sophie’s dress is the Mara design from Emilia Wickstead, and is “adorned with a charming pink floral motif and shaped from faille to a flattering fit-and-flare silhouette”.

It features a round neck, and no sleeves, but two darts at the front and two slip pickets at the side to form an A-line skirt. It is also made from 100 percent polyester, and has a concealed zip fastening at the back.

This is a new dress in Sophie’s wardrobe and is from the designer’s current collection, priced at £1,620.

She carried with her a bright pink pashmina, which she would presumably use as a shawl if she got cold, and a cream handbag to match cream heels. On her head she wore a beautiful pink hat, designed presumably bespoke by Jane Taylor London.

Her shoes were the Charlotte design from Emmy London, and are part of the bridal collection. They are the Ivory Pointed Wedding Shoes and are only available for pre-order at £455.

The online description reads: “Charlotte is one of our most timeless and exquisite styles. These ivory bridal shoes have a 95mm heel and a lovely pointed toe.

“The metallic gold leather cross-over straps form a ‘V’ shape that lengthens your legs, while the double buckle is adjustable for ultimate comfort and security throughout your wedding day.”

As for the event Sophie attended today, the Order of the Garter is the oldest and most senior Order of Chivalry in Britain. Each year, it is celebrated with a procession and service in the grounds of Windsor Castle, the official Royal website explained.
