For many, cooking in the kitchen is a joy, but cleaning up afterwards can be a daunting chore.
Especially when faced with stubborn, burnt-on stains on the cooker.
However, a clever hack circulating on social media promises to make this tough job a breeze, and it only costs 5p.
A frustrated member of the popular Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips and Tricks Facebook group recently asked for help after struggling to clean her stained electric hob.
The post quickly gained over 350 comments, with cleaning fans rushing to share their tried-and-tested solutions.
One standout tip suggested using a simple mix of baking soda and water.
“Put it on directly, mix a little water to make a paste, leave it to bubble for a couple of hours, then use pink stuff and a scraper,” one user recommended.
Another user chimed in with an equally affordable solution, using baking soda and white vinegar.
“Spray vinegar, sprinkle baking soda on top, and cover it with a hot towel for 15 minutes.
“Then, wipe away with a microfiber towel,” they wrote.
Additionally, some creative cleaners even suggested using a pumice stone.
Though it is normally a common skincare tool for exfoliating, it can be used to tackle stubborn grime, ensuring that the area is wet to avoid scratches.
