Experts have shared a list of the 15 top-paying jobs in the UK that don’t require a degree.
It’s often thought that a university degree is necessary for high-paying jobs, but there are numerous roles that offer substantial full-time salaries without one.
Given that students can accumulate debts of over £50,000 after finishing their studies, many are opting for non-traditional career paths.
Job site Adzuna has listed 15 positions that don’t necessitate a degree, using data from its own website’s vacancies.
These roles offer hourly rates between £18 and £30, translating to an annual full-time salary of £37,000 to £63,000 before tax – significantly higher than the national average of £35,000, as reported by the Mirror.
The list includes positions such as a rope access consultant, who performs tasks like window cleaning, painting, welding, pressure washing, and other maintenance activities while suspended on a rope. Adzuna found listings for this role offering £30 per hour.
Other featured roles include a UI designer – responsible for designing the graphical user interface of apps, websites, or devices – which pays around £27.15 an hour on average.
The role of a butler also made the list at £18.03 an hour, along with an executive assistant earning approximately £18.26 an hour on average.

The National Living Wage for someone aged 21 and over sits at £11.44 an hour in the UK. While the National Minimum Wage for people aged 18-20 is just £8.60 an hour.
It is important to note that while a degree isn’t required for these jobs, other requirements may be needed such as GCSE qualifications or external certifications.
