Vinted is widely recognised as a superb hub for snagging items you regretted not snapping up when you had the chance or even for securing goods at a steal.
Yet, one woman claimed she was “robbed” on the platform by a cunning buyer who was far more familiar with Vinted than herself. Katie Dsouza vented her frustration on TikTok under the caption: “Don’t hate the player, hate the game I guess,” revealing she was absolutely “fuming” over the sneaky tactics used against her without her knowledge.
“How f**king dare you,” she emotionally blasted, although she appeared to approach the debacle with a sense of humour, declaring: “I’m not even mad”.
In the accompanying video, Katie narrated her experience: “I just got played by someone on Vinted” explaining her decision to list an Xbox One S for £60 and attracting quick interest from multiple buyers.

One potential buyer pitched her a lower offer of £50, which was £10 below her listed price. In response, she said gracefully that having just posted the item, she intended to allow other prospective purchasers the chance to purchase it at the full rate before entertaining any reduced offers.
“I may consider your offer if I don’t get it sold,” she affirmed.
The buyer was determined not to be outwitted, venting: “This b*****d was already on my Vinted and bought five items because if you buy on my Vinted, I’ve got the bundle thing set up so if you buy five things you get 40% off or more on the items. So this b*****d bought five of my £1 s****y items, including the Xbox, and got it all for £48, something like that.”
She then expressed her frustration at being “played” like a “like a f**king fiddle,” but chose to refund the account for the bundle they purchased, stating she had “reposted it” and “blocked” the cunning customer. Katie added: “I’ve stopped my bundle discounts now,” followed by an exasperated sound.
In the comments, some users admired the strategy, with Katie acknowledging: “Absolutely. Think this will be a new trick for a lot of people.”
Another suggested: “Turn the bundle discount off that’s what I’ve done cos people are soooo sneaky.”
Katie confirmed she had done just that, admitting her surprise that someone would take advantage.
“I put my £450 egg pram on Vinted and forgot about my bundle discount, thankfully a lady messaged me to tell me! Can you imagine losing 20% on that,” another user shared their own close call.
A TikTok viewer commented: “But… isn’t that just being strategic and grabbing a bargain? They didn’t technically break any rules nor rob you. Quite genius tbh.”
However, one individual expressed their anger towards Katie, writing: “You shouldn’t be allowed to cancel the order because they didn’t do anything wrong.”
To which Katie responded: “And I shouldn’t have to accept it either, it is my item and it is my choice at the end of the day not there’s, they may not have done anything technically wrong but I forgot about my bundle discounts!”
