If you find it challenging to position and hang your Christmas wreath every year, one woman has devised a clever solution for both sides of your door.
Posting on Reddit, she shared her “annual reminder” – a technique she champions that demands “zero effort” and causes no damage. “No hooks, tape, nails, strips, hangers, pins, staples, etc required,” the woman wrote in the Christmas subreddit alongside photos of her own indoor and outdoor wreaths.
“I’ve posted this before but wanted to share again,” she noted. “Simply tie two wreaths together with a long piece of ribbon and hang over the door.”
Her snaps clearly demonstrated how her two wreaths are linked via a tartan ribbon, which is then draped over the top of the centre of the door frame. All you need to do is make certain the ribbon is of sufficient length for the wreaths to dangle at the correct height on the inside and outside of the door.
“Voila!” the woman declared. “No damage and a wreath inside and out. Double the Christmas cheer.”
Writing in response, one Reddit user applauded: “Omg I needed this! I bought a suction cup years back and it always falls off the door! I don’t have a second wreath but am totally fine with taping something to the inside face of the doors. Thank you!”
This prompted the woman to reveal how her concept originated. “Ah yeah the suction ones are the worst!” she confessed. “I also bought a metal hanger thing a few years back and it was too thick so you couldn’t close the door. Came up with this solution out of pure desperation.”
A second person enquired: “Doesn’t it swing about with the wind?” To which the woman clarified in reply: “No not at all! We have a side entrance though which probably helps.”
Elsewhere, another individual hailed the idea: “Omg thanks for posting this, you’re a genius! I can’t put a tree up this year so I was hoping to find ways to still decorate for Christmas… I stumbled on a pretty wreath the other day but didn’t know how to hang one without damaging our door. I’m so going to do this weekend!”
While a fourth Reddit user gushed: “Thank you for this because my hook just died on me last night and I was thinking of an alternative!”
And a fifth added: “Thank you I love this and shared to my sister who loves to decorate to the max. My sister wrote me back, she lost her hanger and loves this idea.”
