A war film branded by audiences as “raw and gritty” and showing the brutal reality of World War Two is set to broadcast on Film4 this evening.
The 2014 release Fury chronicles soldiers during April 1945, as Allied forces mount their concluding offensive across Europe. Battle-hardened Army sergeant Don “Wardaddy” Collier commands a Sherman tank alongside his five-man crew, embarking on a perilous mission deep behind enemy lines.
Vastly outnumbered, outmatched in firepower and burdened with a green recruit amongst their ranks, Wardaddy and his team confront insurmountable challenges as they advance towards the core of Nazi Germany.
The production boasts an impressive ensemble including Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Peña, Jon Bernthal, Jason Isaacs, and Scott Eastwood. Given the uncompromising portrayal of combat and warfare, cinema enthusiasts have been discussing why this military drama proves such a challenging viewing experience.
