A vet has urged households to steer clear of one  dog breed despite its recent surge in popularity among Britons, branding them “neurotic psychopaths”. In a controversial TikTok video that has been viewed over 20 million times, vet tech Connie disclosed the two dog breeds she absolutely wouldn’t consider welcoming into her home.

In her explosive clip, entitled “Dog breeds I would NOT own as a veterinary technician and why,” Connie launches straight into her first pick: the Goldendoodle, a cross between a Golden Retriever and Poodle. She didn’t mince her words when criticising Goldendoodles, declaring: “Or any doodle/poo mix. They should not exist. Some are really nice but most are bat**** crazy, neurotic psychopaths.” Branding them a “genetic dumpster fire,” she clarifies that they frequently encounter countless health problems.

The specialist proclaimed, “They’re always matted or have an ear infection. People don’t groom them properly.”

Alarmingly, she went so far as to reveal: “I had a patient that was a Goldendoodle, and its medical notes read ‘would kill or seriously harm a small child’ because it was so aggressive.”

According to research from Pets4Homes, the Goldendoodle was the UK’s most sought-after dog breed in 2023, alongside French Bulldogs, with nearly 1,000 prospective buyers for each dog. Next, Connie turns her attention to the pure white Samoyed, humorously noting that its grooming routine costs more than her own.

She likens them to “feather dusters that bite.”

The Japanese Shiba Inu also makes the list, which she describes as “dramatic” and unfriendly to anyone outside their immediate family.

Connie also has a controversial view on Beagles, claiming they bark incessantly and suffer from various health issues, leading to expensive vet bills.

Even the charming mini poodle doesn’t escape her critique; she remarks on their frequent digestive troubles and the pricey food they require.

Lastly, the majestic Great Dane gets a nod, as she playfully questions: “I love you but why are you scared of everything you’re literally the size of a horse?”
