Queen Letizia of Spain is known for her dazzling fashion sense and is considered a style icon around the world after donning effortless sophisticated looks. The 51-year-old’s wardrobe often combines classic and contemporary styles as she brings a modern twist to the Royal Family.

If you take a close look at her ensembles it’s clear she rarely puts a fashionable foot wrong. The Spanish head of state is arguably one of the best-dressed royals in Europe.

Her Royal Highness regularly mixes high-street with designer labels and will pick up on sartorial trends. In the past, she has stepped out in bespoke jaw-dropping designs from the likes of Hugo Boss and Carolina Herrera, when rubbing shoulders with the highest in society.

The Princess of Wales is a huge fan of those brands and wore an eye-popping red coat from the British designer. Kate, 43, donned a vibrant winter look when she jetted to Paris for the France vs. Wales Rugby Match along with Prince William.

Although Queen Letizia is also a champion of more commercial shops and is seen wearing pieces from Zara and Massimo Dutti. Those two outlets are both owned by Spanish fashion group, Inditex.

Queen Letizia always looks impeccable and polished but is never afraid to push boundaries or even upset courtiers and defy royal protocol.

From tailored pantsuits to jaw-dropping evening gowns which ooze glamour, Letizia always nails the brief.

She was appointed as the Queen back in 2014 when her husband became King Felipe VI. Before that, she was known as Her Royal Highness The Princess of Asturias.

Ever since she has become known for breaking fashion rules for royalty by wearing unexpected pieces and making subtle shifts to silhouettes.

From skin-baring cut-outs when she decided to wear a blouse with holes down the line of buttons which revealed her décolletage.

She once left royal fans shocked when she exposed her back and arms in a racy sleeveless white and pink floral halterneck dress.

Despite looking at the image of perfection and the garment wearing a flowing skirt – it is frowned upon to show off so much flesh.

It has been suggested that the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle at times has copied the Queen of Spain when it comes to her fashion choices in the public eye.

They sport a similar aesthetic: clean lines, perfect tailoring and minimalistic palettes, though Letizia sometimes plays with colour, whilst Meghan opts for an abstract pattern.
