Tesco shoppers baffled as woman takes in delivery – ‘I didn’t know you

Baffled Tesco shoppers were left asking the same question when a woman filmed herself taking in her food shop delivery. As many of us lead busy working lives, there is no surprise that millions of people across the UK opt for a supermarket home delivery over popping to the shops.

The service is convenient as you can often choose an hour-long slot where all of your groceries are delivered to your door and paid for online. The order can also be amended up until 11.45pm the night before your slot in case anything is forgotten.

Despite how many people use this service, people were baffled when a woman shared a video of herself bringing in her Tesco groceries.

Em, 28, who co-owns a beauty salon, shared the video of her unloading her shopping, but people couldn’t get past the fact she brought the blue crate the items arrived in, into her kitchen.

The video was captioned “the sheer panic of unpacking your Tesco delivery whilst the driver waits at the door”.

Dozens of people commented under the video to question if you were supposed to bring the crates inside.

One person said: “I didn’t know you could bring the crates in, I’ve been unloading it at my front door.”

A second added: “Is it just me that tips it on the floor?” A third said: “Literally never occurred to me to bring crates inside, and now I understand why deliveries take forever with other people.”

Tesco delivery drivers commented under the video, which has more than half a million views on TikTok, to set the record straight.

One comment said: “Tesco delivery driver here, there’s no need to rush, most of the time we’re early. The majority of the time we’re only late due to things out of our control.”

A second delivery driver said: “Chances are we’re early anyways no need to panic as it only makes us feel bad too.

“We get as much time per delivery as that individual delivery takes, so take the time you need… we do draw the line at putting it away while we wait.

“Personally I’m also always happy to help if it makes you feel better but we never mind waiting.”
