Dehumidifiers are a handy gadget with a variety of uses, including keeping humidity at bay, getting rid of damp and condensation, and drying clothes quicker. Amazon is currently offering a £50 discount on a ‘superb’ dehumidifier that shoppers are using instead of their tumble dryers.
The JYMIPA Dehumidifier usually costs £169.99, but for a limited time you can add it to your home for £119.98. It has a 2.5 litre water tank which automatically shuts off when it’s full and comes with a continuous drain hose that can remove up to 12 litres of moisture and condensation per day.
The dehumidifier has three ‘quiet and comfortable’ modes – automatic, continuous, and sleep – and caters for different dehumidification needs. This includes the dedicated clothes drying mode, the two-setting fan mode and the dehumidify mode.
Equipped with a 24-hour timer, you can precisely schedule when you want the dehumidifier to operate, avoiding unnecessary use when you’re not at home. The gadget has a built-in advanced humidity sensor that ‘quickly and accurately’ detects the room’s humidity.
The digital display shows the current room humidity, and you can set the target humidity level using the intelligent touch control. The large-capacity dehumidifier features 360-degree swivel wheels and hidden handles, making it easy to move from room to room.
Utilising silent compressor technology, the dehumidifier operates under 35dB, making your room ‘quieter than a library’. There’s also a useful night mode for a peaceful night’s rest, a smart child lock, and an automatic defrosting function which helps prolong the machine’s lifespan.
The JYMIPA Dehumidifier has earned an overall rating of 4.7 out of five, with 88% of reviewers awarding it full marks. One delighted buyer said: “What an amazing product. Bought it to reduce moisture in our spare room which it did effortlessly. As a bonus I heard that it can also help dry clothes. Thought I would try it and amazingly it did. Now it’s costing me 40p to dry around 20 items – no need for a tumble dryer anymore.”
A second commented: “It not only helps maintain a comfortable indoor environment, but also promotes energy efficiency. This dehumidifier is superb on wet clothes and didn’t leave them with a damp smell. One of the standout features is its surprisingly quiet operation… A very good purchase and very happy with its performance. I would certainly recommend to others at this price level.”
Another wrote: “I live in a Victorian terrace and it can get cold quickly. My old dehumidifier packed up last winter, so I took a chance on this modern smaller version. It’s smaller and lighter than my old dehumidifier and is more portable – I am able to carry it up and down stairs without any issue. It’s quieter than my old dehumidifier, and it’s easy to empty, use and read the LED display.”
“I love my new dehumidifier,” someone else added. “It took no time to set it up. I love the LED lights that signal the humidity level and room temperature. I have been using this in my utility room where my washing is drying and it works so well. It helps dry my clothes within the hour in a warm room.”
Unfortunately one Amazon customer wasn’t impressed with the dehumidifier, as they explained: “Sounds like a tractor. It’s super loud when the compressor starts. I returned it.”
