Ryan Gosling fans have pointed out the same problem with the new trailer for the actor’s upcoming ‘wild’ release.

Devotees have been cautioned to steer clear of the teaser of Gosling’s latest ‘masterpiece’, amid fears it could spoil the film.

The initial teaser for Project Hail Mary has just hit the internet, offering a glimpse into the Oscar-nominated actor’s newest character.

In this cinematic venture, Gosling portrays Ryland Grace, a science teacher turned astronaut on a space mission to save humanity.

As per the film’s synopsis, the plot revolves around astronaut Grace who awakens on a space station with no memory of his identity or mission.

The cinematic endeavour, Project Hail Mary, draws its inspiration from Andy Weir’s novel of the same title. Notably, Weir is also the mastermind behind The Martian, which was brought to life on the silver screen by Matt Damon.

Among Weir’s notable works is Artemis; however, Project Hail Mary holds a special place in the hearts of his devoted readers. First published in 2021, it earned a prestigious nomination as a finalist for the 2022 Hugo Award for Best Novel.

Fans who have immersed themselves in the pages of the book are urging cinema enthusiasts to embark on the journey without prior knowledge, allowing them to savour the narrative as they did upon their initial reading. One such fan took to Reddit, accurately forecasting the content of the trailer’s final moments before its release.

They shared: “My favorite thing about that story is all of the sharp turns that come out of nowhere. There’s just no way they can convey what that movie is going to be about without giving it all away. I’ve been trying to talk my friends into reading it before they release anything so that they can experience it the way that I did.

“It really is one of the best ‘go in blind’ books I’ve ever read. The story is constantly shifting tone. The beginning and ending are LITERALLY light years apart. I really wish they would just bypass the trailer for this one, but that will never happen. Oh well. If you haven’t read Project Hail Mary, go pick it up before it’s too late.”

The plea from fans encourages potential viewers to dive into the story unprepared, promising an unforgettable experience mirroring their own upon first reading the novel. Others echoed the sentiment, with one remarking: “Yeah, that’s the thing about an adaptation-assuming it’s a faithful one. It’s a chance to share a cherished story with friends who haven’t the time or inclination to read. However, depending on how the marketing is handled, it can spoil important plot points. And we all know just how bad trailers have gotten in regards to spoilers. I went into the story totally blind and I am so, so glad it wasn’t spoiled for me.”

Despite these concerns, anticipation continues to mount following the trailer’s debut. One enthusiast exclaimed: “The book is a masterpiece, be ready everyone, this might be something incredibly special.”

Another chimed in: “This looks like a good Interstellar! I’m so hyped! ! !” A third joined the chorus of excitement on social media, declaring: “This looks absolutely wild.”

Project Hail Mary is coming to cinemas March 2026.
