The buzzworthy Atlantic Salmon 50p, released at the tail end of 2023, swiftly snatched the title from the Kew Gardens 50p – a collector’s gem since its 2009 issue with a mint run of 210,000 coins – as the most elusive 50p piece circulating in the wild.
It was released as a tribute to King Charles III’s Coronation and its value is surging over online. The collector highlighted: “The coin has already started to gain attraction on eBay and other coin groups.”
As the price of this coin scales up, he urgesd: “And the price is skyrocketing, so keep an eye out for the new rarest 50p you can find in your change.”
Following his insider scoop, the TikTok video sparked a frenzy of activity, snagging nearly 700 likes as followers eagerly chimed in with their commentaries.
One enthusiast exclaimed: “My daughter has two of these,” prompting the response: “Excellent, keep them safe.”
Another collector gushed: “Really excited, can’t control myself here.” A third added their voice to the chorus, saying: “So exciting, great video.”
