Just recently a rare 50p coin could earn you ‘big money’ and it’s making collectors go wild. Now turn your attention to another coin which could have a £200,000 value.

TikTok user @CoinCollectingWizard recently discussed the piece that could fetch an absolute fortune. Boasting over 202,000 followers, he recently highlighted a 1952 UK penny estimated to be worth a staggering £200,000.

In his latest viral clip, the coin guru shone a spotlight on the proof coin from 1952 which has captivated collectors due to its “intriguing” status as the rarest of all the copper and bronze pennies minted.

He said: “The existence of this unique 1952 proof penny was not known publicly until its initial appearance at an auction in 1977, some 45 years after it was struck.”

Delving into the coins backstory, he revealed: “The British world was astonished to see this coin appear and in proof quality as this was not known to exist.

“The 1952 proof penny remains an enigma as the only unique proof striking of a pre-decimal penny of the 20th century.

“It is perhaps understandable that the George VI 1952 remains a unique piece as the King died very early in 1952, passing away on February 6. A lovely example went up for auction recently and sold for £200,000, so it is 100% a coin to look out for.”

The clip has quickly gained attention online, racking up 500 likes and almost 120 comments since being shared.

Among the responses, one user boasted: “I have plenty of coins,” while another revealed: “I have plenty of coins,” while another revealed: “I have 1952.”

A third commenter claimed: “I have a double-headed one.”
