Dreaming of early retirement?
A TikTok user might just have the answer to speeding up the process. User @CoinCollectingWizard, with a fan base of over 200,000, shares knowledgeable insights on collecting valuable coins and recently caused a stir online.
His latest viral video earned over 500 likes and nearly 100 comments by uncovering “coins that will make you retire”. He presented an exceptional collection of coins that included a penny valued at a staggering £100,000 and a gold Kew Gardens 50p.
Delving into specifics, the content creator explained: “The rarity of the 1933 UK penny makes it highly sought after by collectors and its scarcity contributes significantly to its market value.
“If you have a 1933 UK penny in your possession, then you are 100% rich and can easily sell this for over £100,000. The 1983 New Pence Two Pence coin is considered rare due to a specific transition in the design of the coin.”
He added: “In 1983, the Royal Mint began the process of changing the inscription from New Pence to Two Pence. If you find this rare coin, you are looking at £1,000+.”
Winding down with the London 2012 coinage, he remarked: “If you find an Aquatic 50p error coin with lines over the face, it could be worth a small fortune.”
A minuscule batch of the original design was released into circulation before being swiftly modified to feature the face above the water. As a result, the coin’s value has skyrocketed due to its extreme rarity.
Lastly, a gold proof Kew Gardens 50p coin reportedly sold for a staggering £6,800 at a recent Royal Mint online auction.
He revealed: “The ultra-rare version of the sought-after Kew Gardens 50p was estimated to fetch between £5,000 and £6,000 and did end up selling for thousands.”
The video, shared recently, garnered significant attention from enthusiastic coin collectors. One viewer proudly declared: “I have,” while another social media enthusiast confessed: “I want to retire.”
