Most dog lovers will be well-aware of the fact that the world’s biggest international dog show of its kind, Crufts, takes place in March year.

Each year, dogs from all over the world are seen competing in obedience, agility, flyball, and heelwork to music, in the world-famous confirmation show. Crufts often shares clips on social media of the main highlights from the show, so people who couldn’t make it can take part from wherever they are.

In one video they shared to their TikTok account, which boasts over 332,000 followers, an Afghan Hound is seen performing heel work at the 2024 show with its owner, Jennifer, and viewers can’t believe their eyes.

“We were treated to this phenomenal heelwork to music routine at Crufts 2024, featuring the waggiest Afghan Hound tail we’ve ever seen!” they wrote in the caption of the video.

At the start of the video, Afghan Hound Flawless Fabio is seen laying under a blanket as the song ‘Perfect Isn’t Easy’ from the 1988 Disney film Oliver & Company starts playing. Along with his owner Jennifer, Fabio is seen replicating scenes from the movie, while also showing off his impressive skills.

People were amazed at the performance, as Afghan Hounds are not the easiest breed to train, according to the American Kennel Club. They shared that the breed are overall very independent, yet affectionate and extremely loyal to their humans.

Because of this loyalty, the dogs can be generally easy to housetrain and teach general commands, like sit and stay, because they want to please their owners. However, owners of Afghan Hounds often say that the breed’s hunting instinct to chase something often gets in the way of more advanced training and commands.

Taking to the comments of the video, one person commented: “What I like most about out this is even when she was pretending not to want to get out of bed her little tail just couldn’t stop wagging”

“Now this is impressive, you know how hard it is to train sighthounds?” another user wrote, while a third added: “doing any kind of obedience or tricks with an afghan is wildly impressive.”

“I wish people knew how impressive this is with an Afghan Hound!!!!!!!!” another said.
