With the UK braced for temperatures to drop even further, many are looking for solutions to stay warm and cosy throughout the winter months. Following the news that energy bills could rise even higher in January, the motivation to cut down on electricity use is stronger than ever, and sometimes investing in items to keep yourself warm, rather than heating your entire home can help.

If a standard blanket isn’t going to cut it, heated blankets are also a popular option, but they’re only handy if you’re going to be staying still for a long time – on the sofa or in bed for example.

M&S has a blanket that combines practicality and cosiness – The M&S Snuggle™ Heavyweight Heated Fleece Electric Hooded Blanket, which is now reduced from £59 to £47.20 in the retailer’s 20% off electric blankets event.

The wearable blanket is made from thick teddy fleece and has six heat settings, plus a pocket at the front to keep your hands warm too.

The Marks and Spencer website also states: ‘Running cost of less than 3p per hour calculated using the UK: Price Guarantee (October 2023) electricity rate of 27 pence per kWh. Information correct of 3/10/2023 subject to changes in energy tariffs.’

Reviews are stacking up on the M&S blanket, with one shopper saying: ”Fantastic product really warm lovely and soft, really pleased.” While another added: ”This is an absolutely wonderful product. I live in a very cold house with very high heating bills (on average £450 per month). This heated fleece is a real game-changer, as it is very economical. Even without it being plugged in, it is very warm.” [SIC]

Not everyone gave the blanket as much praise however, with one shopper commenting: ”Cosy and very warm, difficult to detach the plug and therefore cumbersome to have to carry that around in the pouch if you want to go and make a cup of tea or something.” [SIC]
