M&S has won shoppers’ praise as they launched a linen jumpsuit that “goes well with any occasion”. The Linen Blend Belted Jumpsuit in black looks “particularly expensive” as some shoppers styled it with heels and sparkly jewellery.
The £55 onesie jumps on this spring-summer utility trend but it has swapped out heavy cotton for a breathable linen blend, which is perfect for incoming hot weather days. The trouser legs sit at ankle length so shoppers won’t have to worry about sweeping the floor when out and about.
The top half features a collared neck and short sleeves that won’t be too revealing whilst keeping the arms covered. It also includes a self-tie belt to cinch in the waist for a flattering shape.
As its name suggests, the jumpsuit has two chest pockets and two extras on the side to keep your phone and wallet close to you. Sizes are available at petite, regular and long, from UK8 to UK24.
And it has amassed 70 glowing reviews online, one bought the jumpsuit for special occasions and shared: “I absolutely love this. It can be dressed up or down and in black, it looks quite expensive. I’m size 8, 5’2″ and the length of the trousers are a couple of inches above my ankle.”
One particularly loved the fabric, adding: “Perfect for spring, fabric feels really good quality. I’m a pear shape and a size 10 or 12 at M&S, I went for the 12 and it fits perfectly! A versatile piece I will get lots of wear out of.”
A third said she has been wearing the “very flattering and comfortable” jumpsuit at work and on her off-duty days. But some remarked the linen material left them feeling “itchy” and one said she preferred the bottom as a kick-flare cut, rather than a straight cut.
Reiss’ Anita Casual Linen Jumpsuit probably ticks the boxes for those looking for a floor-grazing length wide-leg jumpsuit. It gives off a high fashion aesthetic and the stone colour works nicely with any complexion.
The black Mango Quita Cargo Linen Blend Jumpsuit could be another good alternative, but it features bat-wing sleeves rather than short sleeves.
