With Christmas just a month away and Black Friday offers still ongoing, it’s a great time to shop for presents. Although Marks and Spencer doesn’t officially participate in the shopping event on the 28th, it often reduces prices on selected items throughout November, offering savings on everything from clothing to beauty products.
The retailer’s own beauty and home products are always a great gift option, and a specific one has been very popular recently, selling over 100 in the past five days, according to MyLondon. The Apothecary Heroes Gift Set has been reduced by 50% from £60 to £30, and it’s the ideal gift for someone who needs a touch of relaxation.
Inside, you can find seven products from the retailer’s own Apothecary range, all packed in a woven tote bag with leather-look straps that are stylish enough to use on their own.
The Apothecary range offers bath, body and home fragrance products focused on relaxation, with four scents designed to Calm, Sleep, Restore and Balance. The gift set is a great way to try all the scents and product types offered in the range, as it includes everything from a body wash and lotion to a scented candle and diffuser.
It would make an excellent gift for fans of the Apothecary range, but would be an equally thoughtful gesture for someone who loves self-care, as the products inside are designed to help users unwind and relax.
The set includes a 250ml Revitalise body wash, which is scented with petitgrain, lemon, mandarin and eucalyptus.
There are also a matching hand wash and body lotion in the Restore scent, which has notes of geranium, cedarwood, eucalyptus and lavender. These two are also sold separately as a set, which costs £12, making the discounted gift set a much better deal.
Another product included in the set is a Warmth hand cream, a comforting blend of cardamom, cinnamon leaf, cedarwood, and sandalwood. It comes in a 60ml metal tube that’s perfect for keeping in your bag to keep your hands soft and moisturised in the cold.
There are also three products that will be the perfect addition to an evening wind-down routine, as they are made with essential oils known for their soothing, calming qualities. There is a Sleep pillow mist, infused with lavender, eucalyptus, vetiver and jasmine essential oils, and a matching reed diffuser that can be placed in a bedroom.
The last product in the gift set is a Calm candle, infused with a blend of cedarwood, lavender and sweet orange, which would help add to the ambience of a relaxing bubble bath.
M&S shoppers are praising the set online, with one saying: “So good I had to buy four. Love the choice. Cute little basket too.”
It was a popular choice for gifting, with one shopper saying: “Bought as a Christmas gift for my daughter who loves this range.”
“A wonderful gift to send to a friend,” another happy customer remarked. “It was in a lovely basket, and for the high-quality products, it was good value for money.”
On an individual review for the diffuser, one buyer said: “Very relaxing – I use the pillow spray as well. I think it will also last a long time.”
A separate review said the matching hand wash and lotion “smell amazing and look gorgeous on my bathroom and kitchen sink.”
One shopper was pleased with the set overall, but thought the pillow mist was too weak-smelling. They said: “This was a gift to myself and on the whole I’m pleased with items. Only one item I am very disappointed with, and that is the pillow spray, which has hardly any scent at all.”
Shoppers should note that most essential oils should not go near or on the skin undiluted to prevent irritation. As the specific product is designed to be sprayed on pillows, the essential oils inside are diluted in water to help them evaporate rather than stay on the fabric.
