Jeans are a staple in every season, but they come into their own during the colder months, when reaching for them on a daily basis seems the easiest option.
If you’re not quite ready to part with the ease of jeans and a jumper this autumn, trying a new style could help with switching up your outfits.
The Mid Rise Relaxed Horseshoe Jeans cost £39.50 and come in black and medium indigo shades, with a unique horseshoe shape that rivals the popular ‘barrel’ trend.
They come in short, regular or long for the perfect length, and have a mid-rise waist and comfortable, relaxed fit.
One shopper said: ”I really like these jeans – I was a little sceptical but they are great – they are a flattering shape (don’t be fooled by the John Wayne look) as they hang down when you stand and walk – they are tighter on the hips and fall nicely – I am 5’4 and have the regular which is the perfect length.” [SIC]
Another highly recommended the black shade, saying: ”Very stylish jeans, really cool shape and look great with kitten heels, I’m 5 foot and the short are perfect. Look really expensive in black.” [SIC]
The unique shape isn’t for everyone though, with one M&S buyer saying: ”They fit true to size but I just didn’t like the really exaggerated silhouette – personal taste, I love a barrel leg but turns out not a horseshoe! Good quality though.”
Others were unsure but pleasantly surprised, however, saying: ”Little worried when I first saw the shape but once on they look great.”
An alternative to the Marks and Spencer jeans are the £75 Curve Love Mid Rise Barrel Jeans from Abercombie and Fitch, which hug the figure to accentuate curves and avoid gapping.
Next’s version is the 100% Cotton Barrel Jeans, which are a more subtle take on the trend, and are priced at £45.
