A young Brit claims he has created the “perfect weekend” in a method he adopted to get four days for the price of two.
Owen Willis took to TikTok to detail in a video his “template for a guaranteed good time”, which would particularly benefit fellow “nine to fivers and office workers”. Starting his process on a Thursday night, he said the 96-hour venture should commence with “social drinks with workmates”.
He explained: “You’re in the city, you’re near the office – and it’s fine, it’s fun and everywhere’s busy. It’s a good time – Thursday nights are always fun – then you wake up Friday and it doesn’t matter that you’re hungover – you’re working from home.”
With day two of the weekend now underway, Owen added that once you’ve made it through the final working day of the week, you can “go out for dinner first” because “you don’t have to be drinking” to have fun. “It’s a fun night because everyone else is hungover, everyone’s a bit sleepy, but you still get to go out for dinner and enjoy time with your friends,” he added.
Now for his bonus – it’s Saturday and “you wake up feeling fresh because you haven’t been out Friday like everyone else”, Owen highlighted. “You get to be active, go to the gym, go for a cycle – or you can chill, make a nice breakfast,” he added.
With Saturday daytime to do “whatever you want”, Owen said you have so much time having “woken up at a decent hour”. Adding that he enjoys spending the day “day-drinking” as a way to get the weekend “really started”.
“Then you wake up Sunday morning, you’re hungover – but it doesn’t matter – you’ve had a four day weekend,” he added. And explaining the benefits of his actions, he explained further: “I feel so well rested, I feel my social battery has been recharged. I’m feelin happy, energized and ready to start a new week.”
Closing his recommendation, he said: “You might spend Sunday morning lazily, but you could get second wind in the afternoon and go out for a beer or a Sunday lunch or even the gym.”
Responding to Owen’s advice, one TikTok user declared, “Pen and paper are OUT”, indicating they were taking it all on board. “Can’t argue with this logic,” praised a second in agreement.
A third added in support: “I’m glad people are realising Thursdays are the ultimate night out. No lines to get in places, usually don’t need to book tables and drink offers.”
Whilst a fourth concurred: “So true – always feel like the weekend feels longer when you start with plans on Thursday!”
