‘I walked in on my wife sleeping with her best friend’

“I dated my wife for four years, then proposed, got married and we lived a wonderful life together,” Tom shared on Reddit.

“We own a beautiful home, have a one-year-old daughter together and both have successful careers.”

When Saira became good friends with another woman in the gym, Tom didn’t think too much of it.

“I’ve been with my wife for seven years and we have a great physical connection and a good s*x life,” he reasoned. “We had our baby.”

But when Tom came home one day, he got the shock of his life when he opened the bedroom door to see Saira and her new best friend naked.

“I didn’t think she would ever cheat on me…” Tom said in disbelief. “They had apparently been having a lesbian affair behind my back for several months.”

Heartbroken, Tom agreed to divorce, especially after Saira chose to stay with the other woman.

“It was soul-crushing,” confided Tom. “But I’m realising that for someone to live a lie for so long and hide a secret relationship…”

In anger, he added: “They are ultimately not a good person; therefore, me getting away from this person will make my life better.”

Tom confessed: “I thought I was in a happy marriage… I’ll find someone who actually respects me and is a good person.”

In response, the Reddit community rallied to support Tom after his marital betrayal.

Change2001 posted: “First realise that you did nothing to deserve this. Your wife made the choice to cheat on you and put your feelings and relationship secondary to her desires.

“First understand it was not a mistake that she made. It was a series of choices she made to cheat. The choice to not shut down any flirting. The choice to not stop inappropriate physical contact, such as hugs, touches, kisses…”

Another Reddit community member said: “I’m sorry this happened to you. Sexuality isn’t an excuse for cheating. It’s just not.

“You’ve got a positive outlook! You will find someone more suited to you and a better person too.”

Feeling-Sail9886 quipped “Are you living [in] an episode of Friends?” referencing the popular 90s TV show where one of the characters finds out his wife is a lesbian.
