After much debate and discussion film critics and fans agree that one zombie movie is the greatest zombie movie ever.

MsB Reviews, Film critic Manuek, Sao Bento says “Zombieland has all the attributes of a pure blockbuster: a pheneomenal cast, a straightforward narrative packed with thrilling sequences, a short runtime with fast pacing, compelling characters, and thousands of zombies.”

Zombieland (2009) centers chronic loner ‘Columbus’ (Jesse Eisenberg)  who teams up with adrenaline chaser ‘Tallahasse’ (Woody Harelson) on a journey to survive the Zombie invested Unites states. The unlikley pair has to team up to sleigh zombies and find solice as they journey to a safe zombie free amusement park.  

The film was directed by Ruben Fleishcher and written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Inspired by the horoow comedy genre, director Ruben Fleischer cites the (2004) film Shaun of the dead as the direct influence.

Origianlly the film was meant to be based on the video game Left 4 Dead which was not mentioned in the film due to creators change of opinion.

The comedy horror has harnessed praise amongst fans and critics. It boasts a  Rotten Tomatoes score of 89%  and a 7.5/10 from IMDB reviewers.

Amongst critics and reviews Zombieland is often citied as an example of classic example of modern horror comedy. After the films release received critical recognition as a nominee for a Saturn Award in the ‘Best Horrom Film’ catergory by the Academy of Science Fiction, fantasy & horror. Despite not taking home the tropy the movie won the Golden Schmoes for ‘Best Horror Movie of the year’. and ‘Most Memorable Scene of the year’ with it Bill Murray cameo. 

Sam Bathe, a contributor to Fan the Fire magazine said: “Zombieland will undoubtedly become the new zombie-comedy cult classic for the current generation.”

Austin American-Statesman writer, Chris Garcia said: “This well rounded lark by first-time feature director Ruben Fleischer deftly juggls violence, humour and heart for a friendly, disarming package that still delivers the horrific body count that genre fans hunger for.”
