French pharmacy brand La Roche-Posay has launched a new skincare to cater people with blemish-prone skin who are looking to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
While retinols are effective in boosting cell renewals and unclogging pores, it lacks of antibacterial properties, so La Roche-Posay’s new Effaclar A.Z Gel-Cream ticks all the boxes to reduce adult spots and post-acne mars while targeting fine lines in one step. As the new member of the award-winning Effaclar range, the A.Z Gel-Cream retails at £33 at Boots and online beauty retailers like Cult Beauty.
Powered by a trio of dermatologist-approved ingredients – 10% Azelaic Acid, Salicylic Acid and Hyaluronic Acid – the cream is specially designed for adult, blemish-prone skin that shows signs of ageing.
The daily moisturiser is an ultra-fast absorbing, hydrating gel-cream designed to address tricky-to-treat and persistent breakouts that occur after the age of 25. Beauty fans can expect to see visibly clearer and glowy skin in seven days.
That is down to the powerful tri-acid complex. With 10% azelaic acid formulated to reduce the appearance of blemishes and uneven texture, it offers gentle yet effective exfoliating benefits. Meanwhile, salicylic acid encourages cell turnover to unclog pores and treat spots.
To effectively plump the skin, hyaluronic acid is the hero ingredient to improve skin hydration and reduce signs of fine lines and wrinkles. AFter use, 93% of participants said they noticed plumper skin and 74% said they had fewer adult spots.
One fan left a glowing five-star review and shared: ” As much as I love La Roche Posay products I want to comment on their marketing as it really is outstanding. It is clear, effective and conveys everything I want to know about a product. Keep up the good work.”
Dr. Zainab Laftah, Consultant Dermatologist, explained: “Effaclar A.Z Gel-Cream’s innovative formula combines multi-targeted actives to address both acne and signs of aging. With hero ingredient azelaic acid offering anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-pigmenting benefits, zinc regulating oil production, salicylic acid unclogging pores, and hyaluronic acid smoothing skin texture and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, this gel-cream delivers comprehensive care for clearer, more radiant skin.”
As new launches, reviews are limited but La Roche-Posay is not the only brand that offers Azelaic Acid-based moisturiser. Naturium also dropped a new product, Azelaic Topical Acid 10%, £22, to gently exfoliate skin but it boasts coffee seed extract and vitamin C to reduce the appearance of dark spots.
