People cannot believe how different one hoarder’s revolting home looked after a cleaner spent 11 days transforming it for free.
It is a daunting task to maintain a spotless household, which is crucial not only for cleanliness but also for the upkeep of possessions. Regrettably, some residences fall into severe disarray, often as a result of mental health issues or compulsive hoarding.
Fortunately, in the UK, there are specialist cleaners who lend a helping hand to those overwhelmed by the state of their homes, which are overrun with clutter and filth. Victoria, who is a speciality in in bio hazard cleaning, helps those struggling with keeping their homes cleaning by offering her services for free. She has been documenting some of the challenges she has faced on social media.
Victoria has encountered bathrooms overrun by cockroaches, kitchens that are biohazards, and properties plagued by extensive mould. Recently, she shared a clip of a home where the bathroom‘s entire ceiling was covered in thick cobwebs, the shower covered in black mould and grime, a toilet with feases stains, and a filthy floor covered with piles of rubbish.
Her mission was to make the space safe for the resident – and people cannot believe how different it looks.
Victoria, who wears a mask while conducting her work, said that the bathroom was one of many in the house. She said: “The downstairs is the priority and of course we needed to leave her with a clean, safe bathroom. As you can see, even though it’s a small space, there’s lots and lots of clutter, lots of rubbish, so many toiletries and cleaning products, but it is also extremely dirty as you can see.”
The cleaner added: “Pretty much everything that is brown and black that you can see in this video if probably what you think it is.” To get rid of the giant gobweb, Victoria used a hoover on the ceiling. She got rid of all the rubbish cluttering the bathroom, and deeply cleaned and scrubbed the toilet.
She put bleach and hot water in the shower tray to soak away the faeces that had hardened. Eventually the dirt lifted and she was able to give it a through clean. She also cleaned the woodwork and radiator in the bathroom, which were also covered in brown mattered.
She said: “It speaks for itself – absolutely grimey, loads to clean and sort through.”
Commenting on Victoria’s video clip on TikTok, where she is better known as @pocketrocketscleaning, one individual said: “Fantastic job. Do you ever feel like you are wasting time though?, because it will just go back to the same condition.
Victoria responded and said: “No, even if it goes back to how it was it would take a long time and it’s safer in the meantime. Plus this particular clean meant a gentleman could come home from hospital.”
One other wrote: “This makes me so sad. People live like this it’s so hard mental health.” Another shared sympathy and said: “I can’t imagine what these poor people are going through to get to this point. it must be extremely overwhelming.”
“What a brilliant job you have done,” another said, complimenting Victoria. “You’re an absolute angel,” said another.
“You honestly have hearts of Gold and stomachs of steel! Well done for helping,” agreed another. One other wrote: “Absolutely amazing transformation your poor face looks so sore god bless you you deserve a well earned break after that.”
