February horoscopes as first Mercury retrograde of the year arrives

February has arrived, bringing with it a mix of astrological events, from eclipses to retrograde, this is certainly set to be a month of highs and lows for many signs. Astrolger Inbaal Honigman said: “The first eclipse of the year is an interesting one, and it touches two of the signs more than others.

“February 17  sees a Solar Eclipse in Aquarius, on the same day as the Chinese New Year, and the start of the holy month of Ramadan. Aquarius will notice this, as the Sun and Moon will be in Aquarius, and also Cancer and Leo as they’re ruled by the Moon and the Sun respectively. The first Mercury retrograde of the year is popping up this month, too, from the 26th, which will touch the Mercurial signs of Gemini and Virgo more than others.”

Aries: March 21 to April 19

Firey and courageous, this month sees you a little dreamier, Aries. At the end of January, Neptune, the planet of dreams, went into your sign and has set up camp for the next decade or more. With Neptune in your sign of Aries, you’ll find it easier to connect with your creative gifts, your psychic ability and even interpret your own dreams. Jupiter, the planet of luck and wealth, is in your sign for a full year, helping you replenish your savings and find exciting opportunities even during harder days. This month, Jupiter is going retrograde, which means you may lose your grip here and there, and you may not get approved for the loan or accepted to the business. The Jupiter retrograde is temporary, however, and will soon pass.

Leo: July 23 to August 22

Brave and strong, this month is actually a quiet success for you, Leo. The month starts off with a bang for you, as the Full Moon in Leo is on the 1st. This is the ideal time for plans, ideas and manifesting. Create that magic under the rays of the Full moon, and let yourself be blessed by the lunar sheen. This is a lucky day, but it doesn’t have to end there. Your ruler is the Sun, and it will be in peaceful Aquarius until the 18th, meaning that the softly-softly approach will be successful if you need a favour from powerful friends.

Virgo: August 23 to September 22

Smart and sophisticated, this month will try and cramp your style, Virgo. Don’t let it. Mercury is your ruling planet, and this month it goes on the first retrograde of the year, dragging you along with it. During Mercury retrograde periods, mishaps and mix-ups are commonplace. Libra: September 23 to October 22

Scorpio: October 22 to November 21

An intense and fierce sign, Scorpio, you’ll be enjoying a rare peaceful month. Your ruling planet, Pluto, which is the planet of death and rebirth, is going direct in the quiet sign of Aquarius all month, with no retrogrades. Even though it creates some interesting angles to the other planets, none of those angles are particularly impactful, and their influence won’t be very noticeable. Sagittarius: November 22 to December 21
