Kate’s three elegant eternity rings each carry a meaningful story. One is believed to have been a gift from Prince William to mark the birth of Prince George, while the other two are also thought to hold deep sentimental value, possibly symbolising important milestones in their relationship such as anniversaries or the births of Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

At the Wimbledon final earlier this month, Princess Kate made a subtle yet powerful style statement by wearing all four rings together for the first time — her iconic sapphire engagement ring alongside the three eternity bands.

The combined value of the Princess’s stacked rings is estimated at £7,200, but their emotional significance is likely priceless.

Maxwell explained: “While Kate’s legendary 12-carat Ceylon sapphire — once belonging to Princess Diana — needs no introduction, her eternity rings have largely flown under the radar.

“The one she wears most often is believed to be a gift from Prince William to mark the birth of Prince George. Set in 18ct white gold with a high-polish finish, it features 0.23ct of diamonds and is valued at around £1,500,” the expert continued.

Before adding: “Little is known about her slim white diamond band, which I’d estimate to be worth approximately £1,000.”

Maxwell added: “The third ring appears to be the Étincelle de Cartier wedding band, set with 19 brilliant-cut diamonds (0.24ct total) and 19 brilliant-cut sapphires (0.34ct total), which retails at £4,700. The exquisite piece is believed to have been a gift from William to celebrate the couple’s 13th wedding anniversary last year.”

This is a noticeably thoughtful gesture, as it includes elements of Kate’s engagement ring — sapphires. Eternity rings traditionally symbolise lasting love and life’s milestones.

The jewellery expert said: “For the Princess, wearing them alongside her engagement ring for the first time may reflect a deeper, more personal story — one rooted in family, motherhood, and quiet strength. It’s a subtle shift that suggests she’s embracing not just the legacy of a single iconic gem, but the layered journey that has followed.”
