Black Friday is here, and if you’re shopping the sales to snap up some Christmas gifts that feel considered but don’t require you to guess someone’s clothing size, a watch is usually a safe bet.

This model from Hugo Boss’ Hugo line has been praised by shoppers for looking “far more expensive” than the price tag. Think clean lines, dark tones, and a slightly minimalist feel. It is currently 47% off at Amazon, reducing the price from £129 to £68.99 – cheaper than at any other retailer we’ve found.

The bracelet and case have a matte black, slightly muted finish that should go with almost anything, whether you’re wearing them to the office, school, or out for dinner. The dial is simple and unfussy, with slim markers and a lightweight profile that doesn’t feel bulky on the wrist. It’s suitable for everyday use as it’s water-resistant and capable of being submerged up to 30 metres.

It’s noticeably cheaper on Amazon than on most other retailers, such as Argos where it’s reduced to £94.99. It’s a great option if you’re trying to tick off a gift without blowing the budget. One shopper shared: “I bought this watch for my 15-year-old son as a Christmas present and I’m really pleased with it so far. It has a nice weight to it, feels well-made in the hand, and the packaging looks smart enough to give as a gift without needing anything extra. Visually it looks much more expensive than the price I paid, so I can’t complain at all.”

Another customer added: “Bought for a present great price and looks really stylish.” And a third user wrote: “A nice straight forward watch, just as I have been looking for. Excellent quality and the black look is fantastic.”

However, a few people noted that the watch is quite big. One person shared: “This is one chunky watch, it is massive! If large watches are your thing then knock yourself out, if not, then forget it.” And another user wasn’t convinced on the quality of the strap. They penned: “The watch itself is a good design however the wrist strap feels more like plastic than metal.”
