He’s in desperate need of a second chance – but  potential adopters have been put off by his distinctive looks.

Marley, a small cat, lives with a facial disfigurement following an attack by a dog – leaving him with a permanently ‘suspicious’ look. The 10 year old feline, currently in Romania but seeking a home in the UK, is physically capable but does have some health concerns.

According to Miracle’s Mission:”His rescuer saw him being chased by a dog. He had a big wound on the right cheek and he was very skinny and dehydrated.

“She took him to the vet the very next day, where he was neutered and the dead skin from his face was surgically removed. The healing process that followed went very well.

“Health or disability details. He is able bodied. He has part of the right cheek hairless because of the old injury. His medical history includes urinary infection, feline urolithiasis, pancreatitis and stage 1 chronic kidney disease.

“His most recent blood work shows normal values now but he has to stay on a diet for the rest of his life – this is what the vet told us.”

Despite this, he’s been characterised as a “very calm and loving” cat who’s straightforward to live with.

The statement continues: “He is well-behaved and sweet. He has gotten along with everyone he has met: people, cats, and dogs.

“He is more affectionate than playful and loves attention and petting. He may even be chatty.”

He is available for adoption through Miracle’s Mission, a global animal welfare organisation dedicated to assisting sick, injured and disabled animals.

The organisation stated: “Our mission is to provide a place of safety for animals in danger, to educate on the needs of neutering both pets and strays and to neuter stray dogs and cats to prevent the birth of more animals onto the streets.

“We also rehabilitate and re-home dogs in need, often with disabilities, from our UK rescue base. We are a satellite rescue, we do not have operational kennels or our own rescue premises in the UK.”

Miracle’s Mission recently marked their 10th anniversary, receiving accolades on social media for their decade of dedication.

One user expressed: “Thanks for all the hard work that you do.” Another added: “Thank you for all that you do for the animals.”

A third user chimed in: “Happy birthday Miracle’s Mission and the wonderful angels who help to save and protect all the cats and dogs. Thank you.”
