An astrologer has revealed how each star sign can prepare for the upcoming autumn equinox on Monday, 22 September. The autumn equinox is an annual astronomical event that occurs when the sun crosses the celestial equator, resulting in nearly equal lengths of day and night.

In the Northern Hemisphere, it signifies the official start of autumn, typically occurring around 22 or 23 September.

This means that summer will officially be over, a fact that will disappoint some, as people express their disbelief on social media that summer 2025 has already come to an end. However, for others, it’s an opportunity to embrace the cosy season with adorable jumpers, Ugg boots, blankets and candles, with ‘lock in’ trends on TikTok encouraging self-care.

Celebrity psychic and astrologer, Inbaal Honigman, in collaboration with Psychic World, has shared what’s in store for each star sign.

So, how will this year’s autumn equinox impact your star sign?

Aries (March 21 – April 19)

Your season begins during the Spring Equinox, and therefore, the Autumn Equinox is the polar opposite of all that you represent. Where you’re a positive optimist, Autumn tends to be more melancholic.

Prepare for the darker months of the year by starting your Summer preparations early – surround yourself with vibrant colours and Europop music in anticipation of brighter days.

Taurus (20 April – 20 May)

Taurus, you relish the sense of stability and balance, making this one of your favourite times of the year. As a big fan of the cosy season, you’ll be ready with a pile of books, a new fluffy blanket and a drawer full of hot chocolate.

For you, it’s not just about the moment of the Autumn Equinox, but the six months that follow.

Gemini (May 21 – June 20)

As the zodiac’s party animal, you might not feel entirely at ease with the themes of balance and tranquillity brought by the Autumn Equinox.

However, every party has an after-party, and that’s where you shine. Prepare for the Equinox by getting your own space ready for social gatherings and catching up with everyone you know to ensure you don’t miss out on any launches and events throughout the winter.

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

As a family-oriented, home-loving sign, you welcome the peaceful Autumn Equinox as it means everyone will be back from their parties, gathering in your living room, which you adore.

Prepare for the Equinox in your favourite way: by turning on the oven, reaching for a mixing bowl and a wooden spoon, just before the doorbell starts to ring.

Leo (July 23 – August 22)

Leo, your ruler is the Sun, and the Equinox calls on you to examine your desires. With 12 hours of light and 12 hours of night, only half the day can feel your influence.

Prepare for this reduction in sunshine by considering all the ways you can benefit from being less visible.

Virgo (August 23 – September 22)

The Autumn Equinox marks the end of Virgo season, acting as a full stop for you. This year, it also signifies the start of love season, with Venus moving into your sign.

Get ready for the Equinox by packing away your summer essentials – swimsuits, sandals and the 80s mix tape – until March, and the Spring Equinox.

Libra (23 September – 22 October)

Equinoxes are your favourite times of year, Libra. The balance of light and dark perfectly encapsulates your character.

Prepare for this significant day by considering what is out of balance in your life, and make a resolution to restore equilibrium on the 21st.

Scorpio (23 October – 21 November)

The Autumn Equinox is a moment of balance for all, but particularly for you, Scorpio, as Mars, the planet of passion and battle, will enter your sign in just a few days.

This indicates that the upcoming weeks are going to be quite active and restless. Prepare by making the most of the temporary calm and resting as much as possible on the 21st.

Sagittarius (22 November – 21 December)

As an adventurous individual who loves to travel and have fun, the calming vibes of the Autumn Equinox may feel unfamiliar to you.

Prepare for this tranquil period by saying goodbye to the loud sounds of Summer and acclimatising to the silence of Autumn.

Capricorn (22 December – 19 January)

As one of the most focused and ambitious signs, balance isn’t typically part of a Capricorn’s vocabulary. The Autumn Equinox is a time for you to contemplate slowing down occasionally.

As the Equinox approaches, it’s time to incorporate some rest and fun activities into your life, perhaps enrol in a class or join a social club.

Aquarius (20 January – 18 February)

Despite being one of the more composed signs of the zodiac, you’re not as balanced as you believe, Aquarius. You have a tendency to take life very seriously and often go overboard in your efforts to assist everyone.

The Equinox poses this question for you: Am I exhausting all my energy helping others and neglecting myself?

Prepare for the Equinox by reflecting on your relationship with yourself – are you treating yourself with kindness?

Pisces (19 February – 20 March)

Your sign concludes with the Spring Equinox, and now the Autumn Equinox is upon us, which contrasts greatly with your nature, Pisces. While you’re sensitive and romantic, the Autumn Equinox is methodical and organised, preparing for the darker season.

Prepare for this shift in atmosphere by taking long walks in nature and contemplating your emotional, compassionate traits.
