Many of us are consistently chasing plumper-looking skin with a gorgeous, sculpted appearance – especially in the winter. While some solutions and formulas that ‘work’ are quite the investment, luxury beauty brand Charlotte Tilbury has reduced the cost of a skincare set that is said to make skin ‘glow’.

The ‘Charlotte’s Icon Magic Mini Set‘, which the brand claims is worth £70, would usually set shoppers back £48 but has now been reduced to £33.60.

Containing the brand’s ‘award winning face serum and moisturiser’, the Charlotte Tilbury mini skincare gift set also features an ‘exclusive, limited-edition white quartz gua sha’.

The collection comprises two mini skincare essentials ‘adored by celebrities, facialists and dermatologists’ – the award-winning moisturiser Charlotte’s Magic Cream and the supercharged serum Charlotte’s Magic Serum Crystal Elixir.

The kit also features a limited-edition white quartz gua sha tool. This device is inspired by an ancient Chinese healing technique which has been known to improve circulation, boost lymphatic drainage, relieve muscle tension, and promote a contoured, lifted appearance.

The gemstone tool has pointed corners designed to gently circle the temples and pressure points, helping to maintain a ‘snatched’ complexion. As for how to use it? The Charlotte Tilbury site notes: “Gua sha massage is my secret to unlocking the skin of your dreams. The ancient technique has a sculp + lift effect on the face to give you a snatched-looking glow! Just use the gua sha’s pointed corners to gently circle over your temples and pressure points.”

Charlotte’s Magic Serum Crystal Elixir is hailed as being ‘like a youth superfood for your skin’ and the website explains: “The high-performance formula features a magic matrix of expertly blended ingredients for glowing, smoother, firmer, plumper looking skin.

“Featuring Replexium for younger-looking skin, Golden Vitamin C for a brighter-looking complexion and hydration powerhouse Polyglutamic Acid! It’s immediate skin revival with clinically proven results,” reports the Liverpool Echo.

As for its mini Charlotte’s Magic Cream moisturiser, the brand claims it’s ‘a miracle moisturiser and primer in one’ and continues: “My award-winning Magic Cream is the secret to glowing, smoother, firmer, plumper looking skin and longer-lasting makeup.

“Infused with Cushion + Lift Mesh Technology, hydrating Hyaluronic Acid, brightening Vitamins C + E and plump-effect Peptides, this globally-loved formula is clinically proven to help boost your skin barrier whilst creating the perfect canvas for makeup.”

If this set isn’t fitting the bill and only a moisturising cream is needed, LookFantastic has slashed the price of this Laneige Water Bank Hyaluronic Cream Moisturiser. Now priced at £15.60, it’s designed to create a ‘plump complexion’.

For those seeking a more budget-friendly alternative, Boots has slashed the price of The Ordinary The Clear Set to £15.10. The collection has been specially designed for ‘blemish prone’ skin types.

However, the Charlotte’s Icon Magic Mini Set has garnered rave reviews on the Charlotte Tilbury website, with one customer writing: “I bought this three weeks ago and I’m very happy with it. The products feel very nice on my skin and are very hydrating.”

Another satisfied shopper commented: “My skin is so soft and vibrant. Great product in recommend!”

A third shared: “I had tried the magic night cream just before Christmas and loved it. What a difference it made to my complexion so I had to try the day cream and serum. Another fab product. I will definitely be purchasing a bigger size next time.”

The only negative feedback some people noted was that it just didn’t quite work for their skin. With skincare, there’s no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach, and so what works for one, may not suit another. This was the case for one two-star shopper who said: “Unfortunately, I experienced an allergic reaction to the Magic cream. It was very heavy and overly scented. Such a shame, as I love the make-up.”

Someone else, who did get on with the products however, shared their reason for knocking off one star in their 4-star review: “The only reason for the 4 stars rather than 5 is I wasn’t sure how to use this tool so some instructions on the box might help for those who don’t know either! Overall I love this set!”
