They have warned anyone with the items to stop using them and return to the store for a refund. Next’s Gingerbread Serveboard and Gingerbread Nibble Bowls have been affected by the recall. They both feature a festive-inspired design but the enamel coating on the homeware items can crack and chip.
There is a risk to customers as they may accidentally swallow pieces of the material, which could pose a danger. The Office for Product Safety and Standards said: “The product presents a risk of injuries as the enamel layer may crack and chip during use.
“This may result in small pieces of the material being swallowed, causing injuries. The products do not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.”
They warned: “We recommend you cease use of this product immediately and return to your nearest Next store for a full refund.”
The item number for the Gingerbread Serveboard is AW2342, while the Gingerbread Nibble Bowl is AN8859. Next has also issued an apology to customers as they warned them of the danger.
They said: “As the Gingerbread Serveboard and Gingerbread Nibble Bowls don’t meet our strict, technical specifications, we’ve taken the precaution of recalling them, and request that you return your Gingerbread Serveboard and Gingerbread Nibble Bowls to us immediately for a full refund.”
