Britain’s most popular dog names for 2025 have been officially announced, and it’s likely your pup‘s name is on the list. According to a canine expert at Rovers, creative names are on the rise, with Augie leading as this year’s trendiest name, closely followed by Dalton and Lolli. However, more classic names are still the most popular, as evidenced by this year’s winner, which has secured the top spot for the fifth consecutive year.
Adem Fehmi, Rover’s canine behaviourist, commented: “While originality is brilliant, it’s worth remembering that a dog’s name is something you’ll be calling out countless times a day – so it’s important to strike the right balance between fun, practicality, and personality. Choosing a name that works in everyday life will ensure it’s one both you and your dog love for years to come.”

10. Bailey
Bailey ranked tenth on the list for most popular dog names. It is a unisex name which derives from the Old English word for “bailiff.”
