Most people already know how to clean a sieve by now, right? Well apparently not, according to one woman.
It appears some people are only just discovering the ‘proper’ way to clean one effectively – though not everyone agreed with the technique.
Alina, from the US, known as @momhackalina on Instagram, frequently shares her ‘mum hacks‘ with her 78,500 followers on the platform, and in one of her recent reels, she addressed how to clean a sieve.
Alina posted a brief video of herself simply washing bubbles off a sieve by holding it under running water in her kitchen before using her finger to indicate it wasn’t correct.
She then grabbed a spoon and positioned that between the water and sieve face-down to help clean the sieve more efficiently.
Text overlay on the video stated: “I wish I knew this sooner.”
People were embracing the straightforward tip, with the post accumulating more than 86,000 likes.
One person declared: “Wow. A video that’s actually helpful.”
Whilst another person called it “genius”.
A third added: “Thank you,” while another confessed they were stunned they didn’t know this already.
Nevertheless, despite many embracing the tip, others said you could ‘just use your hand’ instead rather than getting a spoon.
One follower remarked: “Can just put your hand over it too.”
Whilst another concurred: “Or you can just use your hand.”
A third added: “You have your hand too,” while a fourth noted: “I use my hands.”
A fifth also criticised: “People who need this type of life ‘hack’ mean there’s no hope left.”
