Robert Pattinson is set to star in a gripping new Netflix thriller alongside Academy Award-winning actor Denzel Washington.
The former Harry Potter star is presently marking the debut of psychological drama Die My Love, which casts him as Jennifer Lawrence’s screen partner, Jackson.
Pattinson embarks on a dramatically different narrative in Netflix’s Here Comes the Flood, which is currently in production.
Helmed by Oscar-nominated director Fernando Meirelles, the film centres on a collection of characters involved in a robbery.
The streaming platform has thus far revealed a brief synopsis of the production, reports the Mirror.
“Here Comes the Flood is an unconventional heist movie about a bank guard, a teller, and a master thief in a deadly game of cons and double crosses,” Netflix reveals.
Joining Washington and Pattinson is The Walking Dead’s Danai Gurira.
Whilst specifics about her character remain shrouded in secrecy, Gurira has established herself playing formidable roles.
Her most memorable performance is arguably as zombie-slaying warrior Michonne Hawthorne in the post-apocalyptic series.
The Zimbabwean-American performer is equally recognised for her portrayal of protector Okoye in Marvel’s Black Panther franchise.
The ensemble cast also includes Normal People sensation Daisy Edgar-Jones, who brought lovestruck youth Marianne to life in the BBC sensation.
This marks another foray into thriller territory for the actress, following her appearance alongside Sebastian Stan in 2022’s cannibalistic thriller Fresh.
Meanwhile, London-born performer Sean Harris will also flaunt his heist skills.
Harris previously secured a Best Actor BAFTA TV Award for his performance in Channel 4’s Southcliffe.
Netflix audiences can also anticipate reconnecting with former child star Moisés Arias, who you’ll remember from Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana programme.
Arias recently appeared in Prime Video’s post-apocalyptic series Fallout, alongside cherished performers Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins and Kyle MacLachlan.
The final principal cast member is Justin Kirk, recognised for portraying Prior Walter in HBO fantasy series Angels in America.
Succession enthusiasts may also recall the performer as politician Jeryd Mencken.
Here Comes the Flood was penned by Oscar nominee Simon Kinberg, who also wrote the original Mr. and Mrs. Smith noughties blockbuster, as well as numerous X-Men films.
According to Netflix, the thriller “promises to keep you on the edge of your seat”.
