Thorpe Park has been named the UK’s most thrilling theme park, landing at number nine on a prestigious list.
According to research conducted by Mousenotifier.com, Thorpe Park drew an impressive 1.62 million visitors in 2023, earning 2.7 million global searches, 292,500 Instagram tags and 34,200 Google reviews.
These figures have cemented its reputation as a go-to destination for adrenaline junkies in the list which named the top theme parks in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) for 2024.
The study analysed 85 theme parks across EMEA, ranking them based on annual attendance, search volume, Instagram engagement and Google reviews.
Located just 20 miles from London, Thorpe Park is known for its thrill rides, roller coasters and water attractions, making it a favourite destination for adrenaline seekers from the UK and beyond.
Bagging a top spot in the rankings has secured the park a place as one of the best day’s out the UK has to offer.
Thorpe Park has already outshone rivals like Alton Towers and Drayton Manor, earning the title of Best Theme Park in the UK for 2024 at the UK Theme Park Awards last September.
The Surrey-based theme park that first welcomed visitors in 1979, also claimed the top spot for the best new attraction last year, thanks to the high speed thrills of Hyperia.
Less than a year old, Hyperia is the tallest and fastest rollercoaster in the UK, soaring to an impressive 236 feet. It also shatters speed records, reaching an exhilarating 81 mph.

With Disneyland Paris taking 1st place in the EMEA ranking, followed by the likes of Efteling in Netherlands and Europa Park in Germany, Europe continues to dominate when it comes to thrilling theme parks.
Currently closed for the winter, Thorpe Park will open for the 2025 season on March 28, from 10am to 5pm.
