Three quarters of Brits rush home to change into loungewear

One in three Britons confess that the ‘first thing they do’ upon returning home from work is to immediately change into their pyjamas.

A survey of 2,000 adults revealed that a staggering 76% eagerly anticipate slipping into their comfortable attire as early as 5pm.

Interestingly, the average adult spends half of their time in pyjamas, joggers or casual shorts. Moreover, 57% are baffled by those who can return from a day’s work and not instantly change into something more relaxed.

The study was commissioned by ODEON, which is inviting Brits to visit any of their cinemas on the 16th or 17th November dressed in their pyjamas.

Jake Quickenden, who has teamed up with the cinema chain to promote comfort, stated “I love getting cosy with my little ones and I can definitely relate to the millions of Brits who get into their comfies as soon as I get through the door.”

“My kids would spend their lives in their pyjamas if they could, so I know going to the cinema in them is a bit of a dream come ‘true’.”

The research also discovered that 54% believe their comfort levels can impact how much they can concentrate on a film.

The top films for watching in PJs or loungewear were named as The Lion King (22%), Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (21%) and Toy Story (20%).

Surprisingly, nearly a quarter (24%) even claimed they would be more inclined to go to the cinema if pyjama-wearing was actively encouraged. And just under one in 10 confessed they have done so in the past.

The study, conducted through OnePoll.com, also disclosed that 44% would gladly don loungewear all day if it was socially acceptable. Meanwhile, 13% assert they currently don’t wear anything else.

The Odeon is giving customers who attend their cinemas in their pyjamas a £5 voucher to watch any film of their choice between 7th-31st January.
