Princess Kate and senior royals will be among thousands this Sunday honouring war heroes. Poppies are worn as a mark of respect to those who died during the First World War and other conflicts.

The Princess of Wales, 43, noticeably wears a cluster of three poppies which has become her preference over the years. One theory is that she wears multiple brooches in honour of family members who have fought and died in wars.

Last year she donned a stunning black ensemble on Remembrance Sunday, which featured a gorgeous arrangement. You can get a similar look here for £5 – as the badge features a trio of red Poppies.

Each flower is connected to the other which represents a powerful symbol of Remembrance, sacrifice and gratitude. Kate’s great-grandmother had three brothers who were killed in action during the First World War.

During a poignant visit to the Imperial War Museum back in 2018, she viewed letters from her ancestors which outlined their roles. Although the reason behind Kate wearing multiple poppies has never been confirmed by the palace.

The Royal Family are set to take centre stage at the National Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph in London.

The event commemorates the Armed Forces, their families, the emergency services and those who have lost their lives in conflict or terrorism. We have found a gorgeous brooch similar to Kate’s, for just £15.

The timeless classic design features two stunning red poppies, each detailed with textured petals and adorned with sparkling crystal centres.

Completing the luxurious look there is a gold-tone finish to the stems and leaves which adds sophistication creating a harmonious blend of elegance and sentiment.

Traditionally people wear the Royal British Legion’s red paper poppies to mark the day which this year falls on November 10.
