Nobody wants to look in a streaky mirror, but it can feel as though no matter how much you clean it, the marks just refuse to disappear. It can make you feel embarrassed to have guests, as it looks like you haven’t bothered to touch it since you bought it.
But, we all know that’s not the case, as sometimes, you can go over it many, many times with a cloth and it can leave pesky fibres all over it, and possibly even look worse than it did when you started.
Now, one woman has shared there’s one kitchen essential you probably already have that will keep your mirrors looking as good as new, so you’ll be able to be proud of the streak-free shine.
Topaz Wilde shared “how to get streak-free mirrors every time,” on her TikTok page, and all you’ll need is a microfibre cloth and some Fairy Liquid, which you can get in some supermarkets for as little as £1.
All you need to do is squirt a generous amount of Fairy Liquid onto a slightly damp microfibre cloth and squeeze it gently.
Then, in a circular motion, you can rub the cloth all over your mirror. Yes, at first, it may seem counterproductive, as the mirror starts to look as though you can’t see through it, but it’s the perfect example of trusting the process.
Just give the mirror a good going over several times, ensuring the whole thing is covered by the Fairy Liquid.
Then, you’ll want to get a dry microfibre cloth, and wipe everything down. You don’t have to go up and down – the product is so effective that it will simply leave your mirrors streak-free when everything has been washed off.
It’s important you don’t use a cloth with loose fibres for this, as they will just get stuck to the mirror and leave the problem even worse than it was beforehand.
At the end of the video, she showed off the effect the Fairy Liquid had had, and it was seriously impressive. The mirror looked as though she’d just had it recently installed.

Fairy Liquid is effective at cleaning mirrors because it is designed to cut through grease and remove dirt, which means it can easily lift away fingerprints, smudges, and other residues that often accumulate on glass surfaces.
